My History with TCC XA
TCC XA History
Years Ago Greg and Susan Tiffany planted a Chi Alpha Group at University of Tulsa and Tulsa Community College. Then one day God called them to Chi Alpha at Oklahoma University. The XA group at Tulsa Community College continued on with little presence on the campus.
Until I took the lead on trying to rebuild the TCC XA group again in 2011. I started with intermurrals. I got an info table with Greg and Adam (The Chi Alpha staff at TU), and we advertised a volleyball intermural team. We had many interested in joining. When practices came along we had 3 committed girls, one of my friends who took online classes, and me (just enough members for a team).
The next year we had Jason and Caysie Martin come on staff with the Tulsa XA Team. Jason came on to my team at TCC. We had info tables and started weekly lifegroups at lunch. By the end of the year we had 4 commited students to our group, averaging 6 students each week, and 15 to monthly activities.
We are excited to see what God has in store for TU Chi Alpha this coming year!
I was raising my budget to be on staff at The Ohio State University's Chi Alpha, when God changed my plans. I knew God had hadn't said no to The Ohio State University XA, so I took that as him saying yes.
After meeting up with the Director of Oklahoma Chi Alpha who was also campus pastoring for Tulsa are campuses, I felt God tell me to contact him to be around college students again ministering while raising my budget. So I contacted Greg Tiffanyk, and he gave me about 8hrs a week working with Tulsa Community College students at the southeast campus.
I started/captained an intermural volleyball team. While we didn't win a single game I was able to connect with three different students.
I came on staff at the University of Tulsa, and Tulsa Community College about 10 months after first meeting Greg Tiffany.
I now work with women students, student leaders, and international women! Loving every minute of being here!
