TU XA History
I was raising my budget to be on staff at The Ohio State University's Chi Alpha, when God changed my plans. I knew God had hadn't said no to The Ohio State University XA, so I took that as him saying yes.
I met our XA director, Greg Tiffany, for the first time when the Tulsa XA partnered with my church, Oologah Assembly, to do a lake event called Summer Splash. Greg preached at my church the next morning. I went up after the service and introduced myself telling him who I was, and that I was going on staff at The Ohio State University Chi Alpha. He laughed and said, "You aren't going to Ohio, you are going to stay in Oklahoma and help me." While he did really want me to stay in Oklahoma, he had said this as a joke. But the Holy Spirit had a divine appointment for those words to be spoken by Greg, because right when the words left his mouth I thought does he know something I don't? No Lord not Oklahoma! You know I want change!
I came on staff at the University of Tulsa, and Tulsa Community College about 10 months later. I work with women students, student leaders, and international women! Loving every minute of being here!
Years Ago Greg and Susan Tiffany planted a Chi Alpha Group at University of Tulsa and Tulsa Community College. Then one day God called them to Chi Alpha at Oklahoma University. The XA group at University of Tulsa was taken over by another director. The group went on for years changing directors until the group became only seniors involved, and when they graduated it disappeared.
Then in 2011 Greg; Susan, his wife; Adam, his assistant, and Sarah, Adam's fiance moved to Tulsa to restart the Chi Alpha group at University of Tulsa.
They got amazing student leaders raised up by the end of the first year. We started lifegroups and international ministry the second year.
We are now going on to our third year of having a XA group re-established on the TU campus. Adam and Sarah put in two years on staff, and now are raising budget to be missionaries to Costa Rica. Jason and Caysie have been added to our staff the middle of Fall semester 2012. We are excited to see what God has in store for TU Chi Alpha this coming year!
